The Work

Our worthiness, our aliveness, and the invaluable nature of our ‘Original Gifts’ arise from this truth: Earth’s beauty, dignity, and design is our inherent beauty, dignity, and design, and it is more than enough.

At deeper levels, we all carry the memory and essence of intactness; the intelligent aliveness that runs through all of Earth’s relationships. Slowing down enough, building presence, growing and trusting our intuition, developing our Ecosomatic skills, biodynamic perceptual awareness, our listening and tracking… allows us to receive, to be held, to rest, to be found & transfigured by this beauty, this animacy of place.

This is decolonizing work: to be shaped by the animate, and ‘re-membered’ back into knowing the depth of true resource. This is the Great Welcome: the direct experience of animate Earth, Mystery, and Soul as inherently worthy. Our ‘Indigenous Soul’ already knows this. Every intact culture knows that it's all holy, and feeds the sacred through beauty - through what they make and what they do - because they're already fed. That’s the fullness of our dignity in action. That's reciprocity. The felt sense of plenty, of contentment, and belonging is what breaks the spell of the ‘postcolonial hypnosis’.

“I consent only to the authority of the law of the heart of Mother Earth.”

—Weyakpa Najin Win (Woman Stands Shining)

Doing the work together, we learn the power and revolutionary potential of skilled togetherness. We learn how to meet profound challenges and also are found by deep beauty, truth, coherence, and essential qualities of self. We move into the work of meeting thresholds, the portals of death, birth, grief, illness, and loss together... The necessity of meeting thresholds of all kinds is a catalyst to animacy and purpose, that invites true aliveness.

Our intention at the Living School of Great Welcome is for you to come be together, to receive the welcome, to build the skills to know the truth of your inherent beauty, aliveness and capacity, and to be a guide for others into theirs. We are here to uplift and reflect the fullness of your natural expression, your aliveness, your knowing that you’re cared for and carried by Earth, and that your revolutionary gifts are so deeply needed.

Thank you for showing up at this critical time - you are welcome here!

How we work with Trauma & Grief

  • We are trauma informed and trauma trained (Somatic Experiencing Trauma Institute)

  • We come from a place of discovery with no agenda

  • We access the bigger resource through presence and listening, making way for nature and coherence to come in and do the work - which can look like grief, praise, movement, transfiguring of all kinds

  • We see trauma in relationship to Earth:‘Original beauty’ is a digestive force and Earth does the work of metabolizing when in skilled relationship

  • We hold that life and nature is self-organizing towards healing and wholeness all the time, it is deeply attuned and coherent, and this self-organizing force of life itself digests trauma

Meet the founding teachers

Luna Rae Rodriguez

Hi, my name is Luna Rodriguez, a creative, visionary, and lover of earth. As unique and complex beings, I’ve found that foundations for truly healthy culture comes from creating and holding safety for self and others first. Through real presence and listening, integration, and allowing life energy to flow through us, we have the chance to fully experience Life, which can look as many ways as there are living beings. That is what we are here for.

Ever since I was a little one, my heart and all I stand for, have always known I am here to go against the status quo, to be the unique fully self expressed unfolding being I am, to be a revolutionary. I explored a career in modeling and commercial acting, I’ve written and released original music, I founded an herbal business, and worked plenty of “jobs”… I tried many ways (but not too hard;) to “fit in” in regard to modern life and have found it just doesn’t work; not for me, not for our world as a whole, and not for earth. In a time where so much of life has been co-opted (starting with earth, and onward to animals, and all human expressions of aliveness) it is our devotion to Life herself that is our most valuable asset! This means, we see and regard all of life as precious and we treat ourselves with dignity and care, and that respect for life ripples into everyone and all that we come in contact with.

I have learned a variety of modalities and teachings, and completed programs and received certifications from people with deep knowledge, including but not limited to: Vipassana meditation through S.N. Goenka over the last two decades; and with David Hans-Barker of Yogi Lab; Bhakti (devotional) yoga teacher training with Govind Das Rosen at Bhakti Yoga Shala in Santa Monica, CA; Herbal Field Studies with Tyler Wauters and Mark Disharoon at the Hawthorne Institute in Williams, OR; dreamwork and other esoteric practices with Mexica lineage Toltec author Sergio Magaña in Berkeley, CA; birth and postpartum doula training with Jesse Remer at the Mother Tree in Portland, OR; and postpartum studies with Valerie Weisner of Sacred Birth Traditions in Prescott, AZ. As well, over my life, music and writing teachers have been many, both formal and informal, including receiving a BA in Creative Writing from Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA, and studying recording engineering at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle, WA. I have also worked for decades with a wide variety of teachers and practitioners of the healing arts and health and wellness, which I have incorporated into my lifestyle. I am honored to share some of what I have learned and integrated over my life.

“May you allow the wild beauty of the invisible world to gather you, mind you, and embrace you in belonging.”

Jonah Jensen SEP, BCST, RPP, RYTT

Hi I’m Jonah Jensen. I’m an Ecosomatic Guide,  Activist for the living Heart of Earth, and advocate for your ‘Original Beauty’.

My life has had its fair share of adversity, with serious injuries, life-threatening illness, and societal-cultural traumas in many forms. At the same time, it’s been deeply blessed by family, profoundly caring teachers, mentors, and supportive elders. What has become clear to me, is how impactful it was that these periods of profound hardship coincided with receiving the graces of all these forms of support simultaneously, while I was often immersed in wild places with long periods of solitude. This stark contrast of light and dark, has been the main catalyst for my healing and ‘re-membering’.

I vividly recall the first moments I felt claimed by Place. I felt deeply in contact with something extremely natural, deeply sense & meaning making, and at the same time resting my whole body and being into a felt sense of Belonging. There was no logical reasoning for it at the time, and it wasn’t something I had earned. I began to recognize that this experience was causal; a culmination of life experiences. It was grace unfolding. I had a subtle sense that something was happening to me; I was being re-membered back into the web of relationships. I felt them literally as my family — palpably, heartbreakingly with grief and praise — as countless kindnesses. Some call this the re-awakening of the ‘Indigenous Soul.’ I came to know this feeling continuously over time, as well as how it was orchestrating me, my life, and my work. I came to see something was mysteriously coming to fruition from a natural progression of events and perceptual tracking skills I’d developed over time; most widely known as ‘Ecosomatics.’ I was becoming increasingly permeable to something deeply original and beautiful. Names for it found me, phrases like ‘original beauty’ or ‘original blessing’ — this magic that was all around and I was being held by — animacy infused in the natural world; the movement of stone, of water, sometimes winged, sometimes with claw, moving with Heart, and deep Love. It’s more than a felt holding, it’s a transfiguring, a metabolic happening that had me embracing fluidity and change back towards Soul; it gifted me with direction.

Over the last two decades I was graced by practices and teachers (human and more than human) that led me to my current work as a guide for others into this holding, this ‘Great Welcome’, and it is the greatest honor.

For reference, below is a running list of some of the education and skill building I’ve studied and integrated along the way, thank you for reading.

  • Finding humility and dignity at the same source, allowing beauty to reorganize my being, my field and shared relational fields, and moving from wholeness in this world are some of the gifts from the time I have worked with Jonah. None of the approaches I had tried in the last two years of healing come close to the depth and gentle potency of working with him. Jonah's accompaniment is rare and precious. I recognize how it stems from walking one's talk, living with integrity and intelligent sensitivity moment to moment, thorough kindness. His commitment to tracking is the courage of the master willing to be renewed and informed infinitely beyond any level of knowledge or experience. I have seldom felt so safe in a relational space, which means that my nervous system gets a chance to be restored, my physical body can relax, while I discover more of my vibrancy and aliveness. More of me is available, to myself, to the world. The work is both subtle and very much felt. I believe pretty much any walk of life can benefit from his deeply respectful and attuned approach.

  • Through Jonah’s Ecosomatic approach, I learned to become more porous to nature, to listen to the wisdom of my body and the earth around me. In that listening, I began embracing my wildness—trusting my instincts, honoring my rhythms, and finding beauty in the natural unfolding of my healing.
